Dear friends,

We are pleased to announce that Dr Bryn Jones has joined the AMA group of engineers, and will be based in Sheffield, UK.

Recently a senior lecturer in the ‘Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering’ at Sheffield University, Bryn is an accomplished engineer and an experienced systems and controls scientist with expertise in the modelling, simulation and control of complex real-world systems.

He is expert in the design of electronic instrumentation for data acquisition and subsequent analysis, and brings an extensive track record of R&D, spanning theoretical development to application.

His experience includes modelling and simulating the dynamics of Multiphysics systems (thermal, mechanical, electrical, fluids etc.), and the subsequent integration of these models with existing sensory data for health monitoring, digital twinning, and/or closed-loop control where the focus has been to extract data and improve system performance. Examples include:
  • Wind turbine individual pitch control
  • LiDAR-based wind turbine gust estimation
  • Modelling, simulation and control of unmanned surface vehicles on rough seas

He has also published numerous academic articles on a wide range of engineering topics, and a copy of his impressive CV is available on request.

AMA engineers and scientists are based in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Europe, and the UK, and are available to investigate the most challenging of marine and engineering tasks.
