Zak is Project Lead at AMAUK R&D office, where AMA’s team develops novel technical solutions to mitigate risk, minimise cost and prevent losses across industry. This includes bespoke simulation-model development to enhance AMA’s consultancy / expert-witness services.
Zak is also engaged in the AMA science team as a Consultant Scientist / Engineer and forensic investigator, adding value to the casualty response and investigative services. UK Tier 2 Fire Investigator. Available to attend and investigate upon request.. Prior cases include:
Maritime main-engine performance disputes and failure investigations, including:
Fuel disputes and fuel-related engine failures,
Combustion, lubrication, and corrosive attack issues,
Fuel management and analysis of fuel reports/testing,
Engine, CPP and shaft bearing failures.
Additional failures and disputes, such as:
Crane failures,
Wire-rope failures,
Analysis of voyage, weather, vessel, cargo, and wire-rope for towing failures,
Twist-lock failures,
Pipe-failures leading to engine room fires,
Assessment of 3rd party investigations.
