Srikant Ayyer has over fifteen years of sea-going experience, sailing up to the rank of Chief Engineer on a variety of vessels including bulkers, gas carriers, general cargo and chemical tankers. He has gained in-depth experience on tankers with Mobil and BP, on crude and product carriers. Throughout his career at sea, he has dealt with all types of routine and unexpected operational requirements.
Srikant also has fifteen years of shore based experience. As an experienced Fleet / Technical manager, he used to manage a fleet of about 25 vessels. Fully conversant with budget control, implementation of planned maintenance programmes, dealing with Classification Society and Flag State issues, he has dealt with many dry dockings both scheduled and on emergency, as well as the customary preparation of vessels for refit and survey.
He is familiar with charter party performance disputes, including speed and performance analysis, and highly proficient at vessel inspections, audits, damage repairs, crew selection, claims, vessel contingency plans, training of seafarers and guidance to superintendents.
Srikant is well versed in bunkering procedures, fuel management and has played a key role in assisting Clients in dealing with fuel problems and fuel disputes in general. He also has a broad experience of H&M and P&I surveys, together with an extensive knowledge of machinery failure investigations.
